| The birds of this order spend most of their time on the ground, and some of them do not sit on trees at all. Their wings are short, the flight is fast, but not far-off. The legs are well adapted to tearing the ground: the toes are strong, the nails are small and blunt. Their main food is vegetable: seeds, berries, buds, leaves, but they also eat earthworms, slugs, insects. The most famous in our forests and game birds of the order Chicken-like are hazel grouse, black grouse and wood grouse.
