Periodization of ancient aesthetics

• In the history of ancient aesthetics, three most significant periods can be distinguished:
• Early classics. This period (6th – early 5th century BC) includes the philosophical and aesthetic schools of early Greek philosophy before Socrates: Pythagoras and his school, Heraclitus, Democritus, the sophists.
• Mature classics. Socrates, Plato, Aristotle.
• Hellenism. Stoicism, Skepticism, Epicureanism, Neoplatonism.

Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
