The language of worship and church literature was Latin. The language of worship and church literature was Greek.
The Church taught that the Holy Spirit comes from both God the Father and God the Son. The Church taught that the Holy Spirit comes only from God the Father.
The supremacy of one bishop of Rome, who was honorably called the Pope, was recognized. There were some of the most influential Christian centers – Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem. The bishops of these churches bore the titles of patriarchs and decided the most important issues together. All of them were recognized as practically equal to each other.
The Pope had tremendous influence over Western European monarchs. The Patriarch of Constantinople obeyed the will of the Byzantine emperor.
Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
