Several bodies form a closed system. Bodies interact only by the forces of gravity and elastic forces. What will be equal to the change in the total mechanical energy of the system of bodies through any period of time?
The sum of the kinetic and potential energy of bodies that make up a closed system and interact with each other by the forces of gravity and elastic forces remains constant, therefore, the change in the total mechanical energy is zero.
