Shrub tundra plants have a small leaf blade, like plants in arid habitats. How can this be explained, because there is enough moisture in the tundra?
There is enough moisture in the tundra. BUT the evaporation of moisture by leaves requires warmth, and there is little of it in the tundra. And the plants have small leaves to evaporate less moisture and save heat.
