| Soon after division, there were p ribosomes in the cell, and by the time the cell grew (it became three times larger), the number of ribosomes did not change. Why did the small and large cells have the same number of ribosomes?
In ribosomes, proteins are formed from amino acids according to a given template; they can create an infinite number of copies. Therefore, an increase in the number of ribosomes is not required. First, they made proteins for growth, and then to maintain the normal state of the cell (replacing dead parts).
