State the main points of modern cellular theory.

The modern cellular theory proceeds from the fact that the cellular structure is the most important form of the existence of life inherent in all living organisms except viruses. The improvement of the cellular structure was the main direction of evolutionary development in both plants and animals, and the cellular structure was firmly retained in most modern organisms. At the same time, dogmatic and methodologically incorrect provisions of the cellular theory must be reevaluated: The cellular structure is the main, but not the only form of existence of life. Non-cellular life forms can be considered viruses. True, the signs of the living (metabolism, ability to reproduce, etc.) they manifest only inside the cells, outside the cells, the virus is a complex chemical substance. According to most scientists, in their origin, viruses are associated with the cell, are part of its genetic material, “wild” genes.
The main provisions of modern cellular theory:
• all living organisms (with the exception of viruses) are composed of cells and their metabolic products;
• all cells are basically similar in chemical composition, structure, metabolism;
• new cells are formed by dividing pre-existing cells;
• the activity of the body as a whole is composed of the activity and interaction of individual cells.

Remember: The process of learning a person lasts a lifetime. The value of the same knowledge for different people may be different, it is determined by their individual characteristics and needs. Therefore, knowledge is always needed at any age and position.
