| Suppose that the star is surrounded by the Dyson sphere – a thin shell of solid material, on the inner surface of which the extraterrestrial civilization that created it settles. How will the luminosity of the new object change compared to the luminosity of the star? How will the surface temperature of an object change?
The steady-state luminosity of the Dyson sphere will be equal to the luminosity of the star. The surface temperature of the Dyson sphere will be the lower, the larger the radius of the sphere.
