| Solid – retains volume and shape.
Liquid – retains volume, but does not retain its shape. It takes the form of the vessel it is in.
Gas – retains neither volume nor shape. The vessel in which they are located is completely filled.
All bodies are made up of molecules, molecules are in continuous motion and interact with each other. The difference is that the distance between molecules in a solid, liquid and gaseous is different.
