| Alpha radiation can cause intense ionization, but it is easily absorbed by, for example, a sheet of paper, protective clothing. Beta radiation can penetrate into body tissues to a depth of 1-2 cm. Like alpha radiation, it is absorbed, for example, by a plexiglass screen, a layer of aluminum several millimeters thick. Gamma radiation is the most dangerous for living organisms, as it has a high penetrating ability. This radiation can only be trapped by a thick lead or concrete slab.
