| Hydrogen sulfide is a colorless gas heavier than air, with an unpleasant smell of rotten eggs. Hydrogen sulfide is very toxic, already 0.1% in the air causes severe poisoning. Therefore, experiments with hydrogen sulfide must be carried out only in a fume hood.
