| That from time to time the rings of Saturn disappear for an earthly observer. Why does this phenomenon happen and how often does it happen?
This happens when the Earth is in the plane of Saturn’s rings. The rings are very thin and are not visible when viewed from the edge. This happens twice during the sidereal period of Saturn, that is, approximately every 15 years.
