| The Dutch gueuze are in many ways similar to the Czech taborites. But the Gueuze won, and the Taborites were defeated. Why did it happen and could it be otherwise?
The Taborites were the most active part of the Hussites, but they found themselves cut off from the “leading edge” of the economic and cultural development of their country, since the economy of Tabor, apart from Prague, became a military-communist one. On the contrary, the Gueuze maintained a close connection with the cities of the Netherlands – this ensured their victory.
