| cDNA – DNA consisting only of exons (coding regions). Since the genetic code is triplet, one amino acid is encoded by three nucleotides. This means that cDNA contains three times more nucleotides than amino acids in a protein. Determine the number of nucleotides in the coding single-stranded cDNA molecule: 340 * 3 = 1020 nucleotides.
