| By the property of an isosceles triangle: the height drawn to the base is also a median.

Therefore, AD = DC = AC / 2 = 60/2 = 30

To calculate this height of the triangle, we use the Pythagorean theorem:

AB2 = BD2 + AD2

34 ^ 2 = BD ^ 2 + 30 ^ 2

1156 = BD ^ 2 + 900

BD ^ 2 = 256

Bd = 16

Triangle Area: S = ah / 2

S = 60 * 16/2 = 480

Answer: S = 480
