| The translation process involved 30 t-RNA molecules. Determine the number of amino acids that make up the synthesized protein, as well as the number of triplets and nucleotides in the gene that encodes this protein.
1) From the foregoing it follows that each amino acid is transported to the site of synthesis of one t-RNA, we know that there were 30 t-RNAs, therefore there are also 30 amino acids.
2) Each amino acid is encoded by one triplet, and since there are 30 amino acids, therefore 30 triplets.
3) If one triplet consists of three nucleotides, then it is necessary to calculate: 30 x 3 = 90 nucleotides.
Answer: A protein consists of 30 amino acids, the gene that encodes it includes 30 triplets or 90 nucleotides.
