Two test tubes contain solutions of glucose and ethanol. What reactions can be used to determine in which of the test tubes each of the substances is located?
The bright blue color when the glucose solution is poured into copper (II) hydroxide indicates that the glucose molecules contain several hydroxyl groups located on neighboring atoms, as in the case of polyhydric alcohols.
This reaction does not occur with ethanol.
