| Two trains go towards each other along parallel tracks. The speed of the first train is 40 km / h, the speed of the second is 50 km / h. A passenger sitting on the second train noticed that the first train was passing him for 6 seconds. What is the length of the first train?
1) 40 + 50 = 90 (km / h) – approach speed
2) 90 km / h = 90,000 m / h = (90,000: 60) m / min = 1,500 m / min = (1,500: 60) m / s = 25 m / s;
3) 25 ◦ 6 = 150 (m) – the length of the first train
Answer: 150 meters
