1) Hilling, because in this case, adventitious roots will form, and therefore, tubers will form better.
2) Crop rotation, i.e. You cannot plant potatoes (or other plants of the Solanaceae family) in the same place every year, because this creates conditions for the development of pests – Colorado beetles
