What are the adaptations of birds to life in aquatic and semi-aquatic habitats?

Waterfowl (geese, ducks) have a body elongated along the body, short limbs with swimming membranes between the toes, a dense feather cover not wetted with water. The feather cover contains a lot of fluff, which conserves heat in a bird sitting on the water. Semi-aquatic birds (storks, herons) have long legs with small membranes between the toes. Walking along swampy coastal places, they search for prey among vegetation and capture it with their long pin-shaped beak.
