What are the equator and prime meridian?

The equator is the longest parallel. It divides our planet into 2 hemispheres: northern and southern.
The prime meridian is the prime meridian – the geographic meridian, “used as the origin of geographic longitude. Accordingly, the longitude of such a meridian in the accepted system of reference is zero degrees.
