What are the features of astronomical observations?

Three features: 1) observations – the main source of information about celestial bodies; 2) astronomical phenomena have a long duration, therefore, many phenomena cannot be directly observed; 3) all the luminaries seem equally distant, so the distance or dimensions can be determined only by angular measurements.
