What are the features of the placement of natural zones on the mainland of North America?

| All northern natural zones, up to mixed forests in North America, pass in horizontal stripes, while the southern zones pass from east to west. The vertical arrangement of natural zones is due to the fact that high Cordillera protect the mainland from the west, preventing moisture from penetrating from the Pacific Ocean, and in the east the influence of the Atlantic Ocean is great.
