What are the features of the structure and functioning of plant cells?

The plant cell has a number of features and uniqueness in comparison with other kingdoms of organisms. Plants have a cell wall of cellulose, it is necessary to have special structures that are involved in photosynthesis – three types of plastids (chloroplasts, chromoplasts, leukoplasts). Vacuoles are required (with vacuolar juice containing 90% water and dissolved mineral salts). Special structures performing intercellular contact – plasmodesmata – connecting bridges between adjacent cells. There is a cell center only in lower plants, in higher plants it is not. Spare nutrients – starch grains, drops of fat and oil. The main feature is the type of nutrition – autotrophic due to the main pigment – chlorophyll. ATP synthesis – in chloroplasts and mitochondria.
