| Many organelles are absent in the bacterial cell. Many bacteria actively move due to the presence of one or more flagella. Under unfavorable conditions, the cells of some bacteria are dehydrated, their cytoplasm thickens, they become covered with a dense membrane and turn into spores. Most bacteria are heterotrophs by the type of nutrition, but autotrophs are also found.
