What are the main characteristics of the properties of the population-specific level of living matter?

The main processes of the population-species level; free interbreeding, creation of a variety of genotypes and a new gene pool, the development of adaptive properties (adaptation) in organisms by natural selection in changing external conditions, as well as the development of new territories. At this level, in a series of generations within each population and species, the process of speciation and microevolution are carried out. Thus, in the depths of this level, on the material of its components, an event of great importance in the existence of living matter takes place – evolution, which expresses the historical course of development and transformation of the entire organic world and the whole biosphere as a whole.
