What are the main differences between open and globular clusters?

Open star clusters belong to the flat component of the Galaxy, and the stars that make up them are young (10 ^ 8 years old) with an increased content of heavy elements. Globular star clusters belong to the spherical component of the Galaxy; their stars are the stars of the first generation. The globular cluster contains 10 ^ 6 – 10 ^ 7 stars, which is three orders of magnitude more than the number of stars in the open cluster.
