What are the methods of chromatography and electrophoresis used to study cells based on? What are their similarities?

Chromatography is based on different speeds through the adsorbent of substances dissolved in a special solution. When such a solution is passed through an adsorbent, each substance from the mixture moves a certain distance, depending on its molecular weight. The adsorbents can be filter paper fibers, cellulose powder and other porous substances. Close to chromatography is a gel electrophoresis method, where electric current contributes to the separation of a mixture of substances in a solution. Chromatography and electrophoresis methods allow you to separate the mixture of substances isolated from the cell, to determine their qualitative and quantitative composition.
