What are the structural features of the eukaryotic gene?

| On average, 50 thousand nucleotides per gene. In DNA there are sections that encode proteins – 5% of the entire length of the chromosomes. The rest of the DNA was previously considered excessive, but now it has become known that it performs regulatory functions. At the beginning and at the end of the gene, regulatory regions are located that determine under what circumstances and in which tissues this gene will work. There is another structural part of the gene that contains information about the primary structure of the corresponding protein.
