| The bird’s pelvis is formed by paired pelvic bones. On the dorsal side, they are firmly fused with the bones of the complex sacrum, and on the ventral side, they do not fuse with each other. Such a pelvis is called open. Thanks to the open pelvis, birds are able to lay large eggs.
