| For all mammals, except for primordial animals, live birth is characteristic. In the female reproductive system of mammals there is a uterus in which the embryo develops, immersed in the liquid of the aqueous membrane. The fetus is connected by the umbilical cord with the mother’s body through the placenta, through which it receives from the mother all the necessary substances for its development. After the birth of the baby, the mother feeds him with milk, which contains all the substances necessary for his growth and development.
