1. Megaspores have a haploid set of chromosomes (n), since they are formed from ovule cells (megasporangia) with a diploid set of chromosomes (2n) by meiosis. 2. In endosperm cells there is a haploid set of chromosomes (n), since the endosperm is formed from haploid megaspores (n) by mitosis.
