What determines the lifespan of ecosystems? Why is the life of an oak forest longer than the life of a mixed forest? Why is oak forest a more sustainable ecosystem than a birch grove?
Genetic diversity, environmental condition, homeostasis. Biocenosis of oak grove – a large number of plants and animals, under constant external conditions, exists for a very long time.
