What do reptiles eat? What methods of obtaining food do they use?

| All reptiles, except for herbivorous land turtles, are carnivores. Their prey is terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates, in large reptiles – fish, waterfowl, amphibians, murine rodents and larger animals. The victim is trapped and attacked, or actively hunted in pursuit of it. Some reptiles swallow their prey alive (already, a chameleon); others preliminarily kill it by injecting poison into the victim’s body (poisonous snakes), or crush it, wrapping its long body around it (boas).
