| Large meteorites can affect the Earth’s motion, climate. When falling, large meteorites do not completely burn out in the atmosphere, but reach the earth’s surface. A collision with the Earth is accompanied by a powerful explosion, and a large crater remains at the crash site – a crater. There is an assumption that the extinction of large reptiles (dinosaurs) was caused by a sharp cooling in the climate due to a meteorite fall.
