What image of an object does the eye perceive in a flat mirror?

| the eye perceives light as if emanating from point A1 and sees point A at point A1 — the light source. In fact, no light rays come from point A1. Extensions of rays emanate from this point, therefore, at point A1 there is not a real source of light, but its image. For this reason, the image visible to the eye (point A1) is called the virtual image of point A.
