| Superheated liquid is used in the bubble chamber. Such a liquid does not boil because the centers of vaporization are removed from it. Typically such liquids are liquid hydrogen or helium. When a particle passes through a superheated liquid, tiny vapor bubbles are formed along its track. The bubble chambers are large, the density of the substance in the bubble chambers is higher: which increases the probability of detecting particles.
