The absorbed dose of radiation is equal to the ratio of the energy E absorbed by the body to its mass m
D = Е / m Unit of absorbed dose in SI-gray (Gy); 1Gy = 1 J / kg
The ratio of the absorbed dose to the exposure time is called the absorbed dose rate:
p = D / t
The unit of absorbed dose rate in SI is gray per second (Gy / s).
