A functional system is a dynamic set of various organs and systems that is formed in order to achieve an adaptive (useful) result for the body. Two types of functional systems are distinguished:
1. The systems of the first type provide homeostasis due to the internal (already existing) resources of the body, without going beyond it (blood pressure)
2. Systems of the second type support homeostasis by changing behavior, interacting with the outside world, and underlie various types of behavior.
