| Pneumothorax is an accumulation of air in the pleural cavity. Distinguish between indoor and outdoor pneumothorax.
Closed pneumothorax is a complication of a chest injury and is a sign of lung rupture. Through this gap, air escapes into the pleural cavity, as a result of which the lung descends and turns it off from breathing.
With open pneumothorax, through the wound in the chest, the pleural cavity communicates with the external environment. This distinguishes it from closed pneumothorax. The lung also subsides and goes out of breath.
