What is self-reproduction (reproduction) of living organisms?

Self-reproduction or the ability to reproduce, i.e., reproduce a new generation of individuals of the same species, is one of the main properties of living organisms. Offspring in the main is always similar to parents, therefore, the ability of organisms to reproduce their own kind is closely related to the phenomenon of heredity.
