The strength of wood is the property of a material to resist destruction under the influence of external loads. Oak, beech, birch and larch wood can withstand the greatest loads. Less durable wood is linden, spruce, alder, ash.
Elasticity is the property of wood to restore its original shape after the termination of the load. The elasticity depends on the moisture content, density and age of the wood. The drier and denser the wood, the more elastic it is. Maple, ash, beech, elm and birch wood are more resilient than other wood species.
