What is the difference in metabolism in the cells of autotrophs and heterotrophs?

Autotrophs and heterotrophs are organisms that differ in the type of nutrition, that is, in the type of carbon utilization – as the main component of cells and their structures (protein). Autotrophs use inorganic carbon of carbon dioxide of air for food, and heterotrophs use organic carbon from proteins, fats and carbohydrates. Autotrophs include plants, some bacteria (cyanes) capable of photosynthesis. Heterotrophs are animals, fungi, and some bacteria. The formation of complex macromolecules cannot do without energy. Energy is necessary for the cell and for the implementation of all processes of vital processes. There are two types of energy available to living organisms on our planet – this is light energy and chemical energy. Autotrophs use light energy, using the energy of the sun and chlorophyll cells and carbon dioxide, they synthesize their own organic substances in their bodies. Heterotrophs can only use chemical energy. In the breakdown of high-molecular substances entering the cell, energy is released that goes to the synthesis of its own organic substances that the body needs.
