What is the distinctive feature of the structure of the arteries?

| The walls of the arteries are three-layered, resilient, elastic, allowing to withstand the maximum pressure and the maximum speed of blood movement. The largest artery from the heart is called the aorta. The three membranes of the arteries contain epithelial layers, layers of muscle cells, elastic membranes, collagen and elastic fibers, and nerve endings.
