What is the function of heart valves? How do they work?

Bicuspid valves are designed so that they pass blood only to the side of the ventricles, preventing the return of blood flow. Due to this, blood can move in one direction – from the atria to the ventricles. Lunar valves also provide blood flow in one direction – from the ventricles to arteries.
