What is the fundamental problem of economics?

The fundamental problem with economics is that resources are limited.
Economics is known as “dark science” because it recognizes that there are limits to what can be used and how it can be produced. There are various ways to deal with scarcity in a command economy, using centralized organizations to allocate resources, while free markets use prices to guide producers what to do and to pressure consumers to self-regulate their consumption.
