| The groups of galaxies that surround us form a larger structure called the Local Supercluster, which includes hundreds of thousands of galaxies. The local supercluster is highly compressed and its diameter is close to 60 million parsecs. Its central area is in the direction of the constellation Virgo. Currently, only within 1 billion light years, there are about 100 such superclusters.
