What is the main function of the biosphere?

The main function of the biosphere is to provide cycles of chemical elements. The global biotic cycle is carried out with the participation of all organisms inhabiting the planet. It consists in the circulation of substances between soil, atmosphere, hydrosphere and living organisms. Due to the biotic cycle, the long existence and development of life is possible with a limited supply of available chemical elements. Using inorganic substances, green plants, through the energy of the Sun, create organic matter that is destroyed by other living beings (consumer heterotrophs and destructors) so that the products of this destruction can be used by plants for new organic syntheses.
