What is the principle of superposition of electric fields?

Consider an electric field created by several, for example, two, opposite, equal in magnitude point charges. The resulting intensity of these fields at point A is directed in the same direction as its constituent field strengths. In modulus, it is equal to the sum of the moduli of the strengths E1 and E2 of the fields created by the charges q1 and q2. This is the principle of superposition of electric fields.
