What is the unusualness of quasars compared to galaxies?

In ordinary galaxies, the density of stars in the core is low, therefore, they do not capture stars and we do not observe manifestations of great activity. Quasars are powerful sources of infrared, X-ray and gamma radiation. The radiation is explained by the fallout of galaxy matter onto a black hole.
